EPTV’s Molten City Tour coming up!
Well hello there!
Here’s yet another update on the life and times of your humble protagonists, El Pino and the Volunteers.
Time’s passing as we speak and our big little spring tour, aptly dubbed “The Molten City Tour”, is coming closer by the minute. We all look forward to it with great anticipation, but I guess that’s kinda stating the obvious. We have a lot in store for you guys (and girls) and been practicing our proverbial asses off since Noorderslag ’07. Joe said that tickets are selling like steamy donuts, so be sure not to miss out and get yours in advance at your local ticket dealer. The grand finale (a.k.a. the secret show) will be at Lantaren-Venster, Rotterdam (that’s April 5th, not March 31st like we said before), along with Utrecht’s rising star Storybox. I got to see these guys at Noorderslag where they played one helluva show, so I’m quite proud they’re opening for us.
Here’s the complete tour schedule:
March 10th (sat) – High Fidelity, Den Bosch at 1600hrs (free Instore gig)
March 10th (sat) – W2, Den Bosch at 2000hrs
March 14th (wed) – Paradiso, Amsterdam at 2000hrs
March 22nd (thu) – Vera, Groningen at 2000hrs
March 24th (sat) – Ekko, Utrecht at 2000hrs
March 31st (sat) – Sounds, Rotterdam at 1600hrs (free Instore gig)
April 5th (thu) – Lantaren-Venster, Rotterdam at 2000hrs (with Storybox)
There you go. Don’t you love it when a plan comes together?
Tuesday night we were invited over at 3FM’s Move Your Ass for an interview and live session. For the occasion we were asked to also do a cover of a protest singer, so after some consideration (dropping amongst others Barry McGuire’s apocalyptic Eve Of Destruction in the process) we settled for Steve Earl’s John Walker’s Blues. Gotta love that song.
We met Dutch-Moroccan rapper Ali B. who also happened to be a guest on the show. Funny thing, I always figured that if I’d met him he’d say something along the lines of ‘Hi, I’m Ali B.’, but he just introduced himself as Ali. No B. whatsoever. Anyway, decent guy, nice crew, nice evening. The people from ‘Move Your Arse’ filmed our little show, so don’t be surprised if footage pops up at Youtube (drop the link in the comments if you find any).
That’s all for now. Hope to see you soon!
